Walk Away

She took a break,

walked away

from all the days

that caused her pain.

She changed her face,

her past erased.

Walked until

she found her place.

Now she’s awake,

has been for days.

Her body cold,

her body aches.

So much for faith;

it’s playing games.

Now hurt and old hurt,

both feel the same.

She’s losing weight,

can’t keep the pace.

Flying high at night,

she feels great.

In the day,

demons create,

Hell for a home,

locked in a cage.

What a waste.

A tragic case.

No tears are shed

for future graves.

One last escape,

a moment’s grace,

she’ll take  a break

and walk away.
