“There are no miracles, today.”
That’s what they say,
but they’re inclined to lie
and I don’t believe them, anyway.
Can’t take away
what they never gave.
Maybe Faith,
maybe I just don’t like the way
they lie about everything.
Bend reality with the lies they tell.
Try to convince us
our Faith is impossible.
While living lives
beyond our wildest dreams.
There’s something obscene
about staring up at the sky,
while making others blind.
It happens all the time.
Another loses hope,
and ends their life.
Run out of rope,
no one throws a line.
We’re all hanging on so tight.
If we had Faith,
we might find a way,
to let go,
to save our souls,
before we slip away.
“There are no miracles, today.”
That’s what they say,
but they’re inclined to lie
and I don’t believe them, anyway.
