To the Mountains

You spoke to me

across time.

Told me I was long past

my day.

Call me,

to the mountains, Lord

and I’ll find my way.

In winter snow,

deep and cold,

in summer’s burning heat;

I’ll come to you,

when I hear you call.

My work here is complete.

I’ve seen this world,

and I’ve done the things

that needed to be done.

I stood strong

in times where I was needed,

and disappointed some.

I come to you, now.

I hear your call.

To the mountain,

I shall make my way.

My time on this Earth

has come to an end.

My final journey

starts today.
