Positive affirmations.

What does it mean to you to get positive reinforcement? What motivates you? What makes you feel good when you find yourself trending down into a negative space?

I have always been stubborn. I try, and I fail, but I don’t generally give up. It’s not always a good thing, but as I get older, I realize that having some level of tenacity and resilience can pay some interesting dividends. Hanging on and toughing out a rough situation seems preferable to me to rolling over and putting myself at the mercy of my circumstance.

What has this done for me? Well, it has helped me become somewhat resilient. I know I can get through hard things. So, when things get difficult, I can say to myself, “I can do this.” and believe it.

Positive affirmation is also about visualization. What is the result you are looking for from a particular effort? What is the end state you wish to achieve with your actions? How do you want to feel? Where do you want to be? Visualizing and conceptualizing these things first thing in the morning can help to build some structure around your thoughts and give you a direction in which to start moving. That’s the key, you have to start moving.

Think about Spinosaurus… or don’t, but get yourself somewhere positive enough that you can take that first step forward. You don’t have to run, but with a positive mental space, a vision of where you want to be, and a large carnivorous dinosaur behind you, you will go places.

Have a great week.

Be safe.
Be well.

God bless.

Much Love
