Why try?
Why continue to suffer?
Why bother getting better?
The nihilistic have won. We crave no new frontiers. We languish in our techno-bubbles, comfortably fed by the machine of corporate governance we voted for with our dollars, and our eyes, and our hearts.
Our communities are fragmented and sequestered from one another by concrete thoroughfares that run lead us to our jobs, or to the shopping centers, but divide neighborhoods. This is called “Urban Planning.” It’s also population control. Cattle are easier to manage when they’re broken up into smaller and smaller groups. Humans, too.
So what good is it to try to improve our health, our finances, our family values, our neighborhoods, and communities? Isn’t it all just futile at this point? Don’t the technocrats hold all the cards?
Well, here’s the thing; human beings haven’t changed.
We’re the same creatures we were 2000 years ago for the most part. We need food, water, shelter, and love. We need each other. The issue is that a single person can find food and water and build a shelter, but community cannot be built alone.
We can’t reproduce on our own. We can’t build on our own. We can’t sustain ourselves on our own. We cannot exist on our own. We are not solitary creatures. We’re tribal. We’re communal. We’re social.
Lately, there’s been a lot of interference in our communications with each other. We don’t know where each other stand on things, and we are slow to trust. Evolution gave us a way to combat this – we can smile. We can smile and say “Good Morning” and if that is the start how we break through the interference, then it will be enough.
We need everyone. We need to build trust in each other again because, as human beings, we just can’t survive alone. We need each other, and we’re going to have to put in some effort to get there.
I think we’re worth it.
Have a great week!
Be safe.
Be well.
Much love!
