Show me a hero’s journey.
One that leads
out of the darkness.
You see,
I have been waiting
for the loss to end,
and the light to come.
If I could hear your voice,
I might find
which way is up.
Tell me a story.
One that teaches
that good shall overcome.
For I have only known evil,
and the wickedness of men.
Tell me of endings
that have lovers together,
and lands at peace.
This world seems
to have lost its dreams
of these.

as I drift off to sleep.
