“Check Please.”

The circle comes around,

and I’ve been waiting

for a while.

Jumping on

the last midnight train,

like a spinning merry-go-round.

Off one ride

and onto another.

Some sick fool’s

morbid fantasy.

Gotta get rich.

Gotta get laid.

Gotta end up

in a fancy grave.

Nah.

I’m done.

“Check please.”

Wait for the right moment

and then step off.

Every leap of faith

is a silent prayer.

Some of them

not so silent.

As the train speeds away,

I’ll bet you can still hear me

screaming.
