What could I ask of time?

Draw out this line

a little longer,

or thicken it

in its short duration?

Would I seek to carve it deep,

that wind and rain

would not weather it away?

Could I seek for it to bend

and end in a place

it was not intended?

If I had

any kind of questions

for time

would I receive an answer?

Seeking along

this plumb line

for knowledge that I’ll find

only in travelling along it.

Not staying static.

Safe at home.

No gifts are given

if the mind is closed.

There is hope,

while we still show

the timeline our souls.

The only way

to trade today
