Mental Health Monday – 01.30.23

#mentalhealthmonday
#mentalhealthawareness

Home with the flu today. Nothing exotic, just an old-fashioned influenza virus. Feeling run down and generally like shit, but a unique opportunity presents itself; the chance to slow down.

While my immune system gets a workout, and I do my best to get rest, vitamins, and plenty of fluids, I won’t stop moving forward.

I have a huge stack of books to read. I have a few creative projects on the go that could use some attention. There is always some small thing that requires fixing or cleaning, and there are always future plans to be made and details to hash out.

Of course, there is snow and ice to deal with outside, and spending even a short time getting some fresh air is good for the constitution. Being totally sedentary won’t make me get well any faster.

Mental health and physical health are tied together. If one system is strong, then it can support the other when it is stressed or dealing with illness. Having structure and purpose can help to prevent depression and malaise, which can really bring us down if we are facing a physical health issue.

I’m going to take this time to do some rest and recovery and work on a few of the little things. After all, it’s the little things that support the big ones.

Have a great week.

Be safe.

Be Blessed.

Much Love.
