Mental Health Monday – 12.19.22

Christmas week.

We’re going to be pushing -40°C here this week. Things break at this temperature. Skin freezes in minutes. It is certain death, if you are stuck outside.

Look after yourself, and if you have the means, look after someone else. We don’t always know what it is we need, but we need to survive. We need to carry on.

This time of year is hard on people who live alone, people without connections of friends, or family. Reach out if you know someone who needs a connection.

Look after you. Don’t spend money you don’t have buying things people don’t need. Share your time and save your money. Don’t feel obligated to attend every event. You don’t have to spend all of your emotional capital on other people.

This is supposed to be a celebration  of life. Jesus Christ was born to die for all sin, and ultimately to have victory over death. His birth is the promise of eternal life. That’s what we are celebrating. Life.

So don’t get caught up in the politics, and the consumerism, and the pageantry if it steals your joy from you. Celebrate the season as it makes you happy and if you have a little extra, try to spread it around.

Have a great week.

God Bless you all.

Much Love and Merry Christmas!
