There is no need.
Here,
all we are sustains us.
Even breath is only a function
of a system.
Our hearts,
our lungs,
our brains;
they are not us
in the way
that photons
are not stars.
We are vibrations
coming through
in wavelengths.
We are a message,
travelling through
space and time.
An echo
of forgotten ancestors
and will,
reaching past
the boundary of death.
Out here,
all we are
is all we need.
We are signals.
