Show me fire
from a clear, blue sky.
A blazing sign
brighter than the night.
Be a beacon
calling me outside.
Let me not linger
on the threshold.
Make my mind gape
and body quiver
with your wild,
unbridled brilliance.
I have come to live
in dim luminescence.
Liquid crystal,
diode permaculture.
Burn out of me
that blue screen glow.
Give my heart strength
and my feet quickness,
that I might
break free
at last
from this pauper’s prison
of the not-so-bright.
Fuel my curiosity,
expose my shadow.
Chase me out of hiding
and find me places
I have never been.
Feed trees
and lush green,
so that it seeps into me,
drinking in my own
photosynthesis.
It has been too long
since I have stood exposed
upon the rocks
and under your majesty.
I have been whiling away
precious days
building petty kingdoms.
Bleach me white as snow.
Let me sins be gone
and not remembered.
Here,
under your light,
let me be freed,
made new.
Show me fire
from a clear, blue sky.
Brighter than the night.
Be a beacon
calling me outside.
Deliver me
from false light.
