There’s nothing left of me.
I gave it all for you.
Skin, hair and fingernails,
organs and muscle,
bones, nerves, brain;
I gave everything.
All of my yesterdays,
even this moment
and this space.
Every second
I had to my name.
I have nothing more
to give away.
Soul and song,
a blissful serenade
turned mournful
by the end of the day.
Only my ghost remains
to haunt this empty place.
It never ceases to amaze
what a soul
will do for love.
Wish I had it all
back again,
just so I could give it up
for you.
