Illumineers

                                                                                                                                                                                                               .

Light in the window,

light in the hall,

shadows of a memory

that I can’t recall.

Simple was a reason,

fear was an escape.

Indifference a weapon

welded in disgrace.

Light that woke us

from our dreaming life.

Days that take us

to the edge of our minds.

Light that blinds us

to the time we eschewed,

so when the darkness comes

we find ourselves confused.

The day, our benefactor

guiding our insight,

but we still watch

the fireworks at night.

                                                                                                                                                                                                               .

                                                                                                                                                                                                               .
