Never been so close,

but felt so far.

I’m coming in fast,

I’m coming in hard.

Started as a slow roller

where the world runs deep.

Now in the shadows,

I break,

and run across the beach.

Feeling the winds of change

Feel the Earth shift

under me.

Baby, I’m coming home.

Don’t know,

if there’s

something comforting

about finally making it,

and taking it

all with me.

I wonder if my peak

might be catastrophe.

Who am I

to decide

who I’ll be?

I’ve been around

long enough to see,

even Paradise can be ugly.

Held the swell,

in time,

in tune.

Tides in line

with the moon.

We knew that the time

was coming soon,

that I would cover you.

                                                                                                                                                                                                               .      .

Fed by the tremor,

driven by the surge.

I couldn’t fight the urge

if I wanted to.

My moment has come

to reach out to you.

Rise and recede,

but you knew

my time would come,

and here it is.

I hope you can forgive

what I’ve become.

                                                                                                                                                                                                               . .
