Alarm

Fail to feed the fire,

watch it die

and the night close in.

Darkness and destruction

are the reward

for our sins.

Claim we made a way,

but in the end,

we betrayed

those who depended

on our blades.

Our steel is old,

now too,

our hearts neglected.

Fields fallen fallow

and cities in disarray.

Once highly favoured

and selected,

let their instincts dull

and castles wash away.

That is why we stay

one lesson after another

taken from history.

Never enough for today,

holding the line.

Enemy of all

that is entropy.

Knowing we will die

in time,

until that day,

we’ll stay ready to fight.

We will feed the fire

long into the night.
