What lies beneath
the surface?
Up in the air,
it’s calm and fair,
but under there,
it’s certain
that there’s
something in the darkness,
and it
calls to you endlessly.
Fear of all one’s oneness,
also meaning that you’re
one with
all the monsters, too.
Go ahead.
Peel back the skin.
See what we look like
under there.
Some of us
explain ourselves away
with light,
but like
all of our days,
we find ourselves in darkness.
So back we go,
into our shadow.
This is where we live,
on this solid ground.
With this abyss
all around.
so much that we don’t know,
it’s no wonder
we see madness
everywhere.
All this fear
is bigger than us.
Smaller than us.
Far away and
crawling on us.
Inside,
outside,
underneath.
Aren’t you glad
you took a peek?
Hop you find
what you seek.
The truth is lying
just beneath,
and it’s been waiting for you.
