Winter Path

On a bent , winter road,

unsure of the fork, or curve,

sometimes unsure if I’m

even on the path at all,

or just following the tracks

of those who have been before.

Are they travelling the same?

Putting faith in a stranger’s marks.

I won’t know

until I get there;

wherever “there” is.

I’m going to find out.

Concentrate

on putting

one foot

in front

of the other.

Stay warm and don’t die.

There’s so much to see.

You wouldn’t recognize

this place in spring time.

I think it’ll be late

coming this year.

Keeping the company

of the Moon and two ravens.

Winter pathway sentinels

watch me

as I move on.
