Verdant

Warm

yellow light

feels sublime.

We have been so cold

for so long.

Heat and sweat,

moisture grows us,

softer and more plentiful.

She thought at first,

that she could disarm me

with a smile.

Little did she know;

showing her teeth

was a challenge.

With our blood

sufficiently thinned,

we recline

intertwined

in the boughs of old trees,

covered in soft moss.

No one would think to find us here.

In this warm, spring light,

unfurling like new leaves.

We are verdant.

We are Sun catchers.
