Inside-Out

Sleep.

Back of my head

slowly goes numb

stomach turns inside out.

Lust.

Serving the nerve,

dead to the world,

simply now I am nothing.

In

side

out

I

die

Shifting the sun,

see the new way,

split my head up

and maybe you can get some

Stay.

I’m too naked to be alone.

Make me sweat

until my body’s ugly

to me.

Stay.

Stain like the frost,

freeze me ’til numb,

now I’m a slave to my TV.

I can laugh,

cry,

jerk off,

learn gossip;

just don’t let me know

I’ve lost it.

Might as well be

another junkie,

happier than I ever thought I could be.
